“God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. I f we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.”
1 John 1:5-7
“In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.”
Do you ever feel like it is one thing after another? Almost as though the deck gets stacked against you? The darkness can feel like it is to much to overcome when it is surrounding you. In these last few months it seems like we have been overwhelmed with so many things going on especially the passing of my mother in law. We have darkness all around not just in our personal lives but it seems that it is falling in on us from everywhere.
When the darkness comes knocking we have to remember that Jesus came to be the light…and the light destroys darkness. The light gives hope when things seem hopeless. The light gives peace in a world full of chaos. No matter what darkness may come our way we can stand in the light, the perfect light of Christ. When other who are standing in darkness see us standing in light and peace, they will coming running for Christ. Maybe Christ allows darkness so that those who are in it will go running to the light.
