Bible Reading: Luke 2:6-7, Hosea 10:12, 2 Timothy 3:16
With the end of the year fast approaching we are busy thinking of Holidays and a brand new year.
I love a new year…it’s a fresh start, a refresh button, there is always so much to look forward to when the new year approaches. One goal I am encouraging each of us to have this year is a dedicated quiet time. A space and time that is all about Jesus. No interruptions (though I know life happens). When we create space for us to meet with Him every day He will honor that time by joining us in that place, filling us up and leaving us full of His grace and peace.
Here are some tips for creating a quiet time in the new year:
- Pray– ask God to speak softly to your heart and give you the desire to create a quiet time with Him every day and ask Him to help you stick to it!
- Pick a spot that works– Some ladies I know love to sit in a cozy chair with a warm blanket, some may love to light a candle to create a more peaceful space…others may prefer a kitchen table or desk space. If you don’t know what would work for you try them all before you decide. IT WILL become your favorite spot of the day!
- Have what you need ready– Grab your Bible, prayer journal, regular journal and your favorite devotion.
- Make it a priority– I know life happens and takes over but choose a time that can’t get interrupted easily. Make it the most important part of your day.
