“What if our name tag labeled us by our sin?” -She Reads Truth
I found myself in a puddle a few mornings ago as I got a beautiful reminder from the Father that He knows who I am and it is not how I see myself. When I read that line in my morning devotion it stopped me in my tracks, it left me wondering what size tag I might need to list my transgressions, it’s not Michelle first but my sins…my mess-ups, my faults. Rahab was always refereed to by her sin. Can you imagine? I would not want to spend my life wearing my scarlet letter across my chest, that when people spoke to me that was their first thoughts of me.
Rahab chose to have faith and her fear of the Lord was greater than her fear of man….(thats another lesson all in itself) Despite her sin and wrong doing God still used to her do something for His kingdom…Sister no matter your mess or your sin God can and will still use you to do something for His kingdom. Your mistakes don’t make you less valuable in the kingdom of God.
“Whatever label we give her- Whatever label we give ourselves- the only true name of a daughter of God is the one that He gives us…..Called, faithful, rescued, redeemed!” -She Reads truth
Don’t believe that what the world says defines who you are, and don’t believe that the harsh words we use for ourselves define us either. There is only one person whose opinion matters and it is Christ. Jesus came with a purpose, a purpose to overcome the destruction of sin…He came to shatter the label of what the world says and what we say…He uses the broken and cleans up the messes. He gives us a new name.
My name tag no longer calls me by sin, but calls me by the name God has chosen….Redeemed.
