I think that most of us at one point or another have
heard this question in our relationship with Christ. That moment in our lives when we have
no where else to turn or go, no answers, just uncertainty….and then we hear the Father say “Do you trust me?” most of the time our good biblical answer is “Yes, Lord of course I trust you.” There is a second part to that ‘do you trust me’ question, ‘How much do you trust me?’ So the bigger question in our every day lives is not ‘do we trust God’ but ‘how much do we trust God.’
This last week I have stared down one of my greatest fears and as I have wrestled to keep the enemy away from my thoughts I am hearing the Father whisper in my ear..’I know you trust me, but how much do you trust me.’ We can’t just say it…we have to live it out. We cannot say God I trust you but not hand over our problems in obedience. Our obedience cannot be partial or half way, when there is no other answer but to turn to God our trust and obedience has to be in full; turned over in prayer, in study, in seeking the Father to lead and control. He provides perfect peace when we give Him control, when we let Him work through our obedience.
God will call us as Christians at one point or another to put that trust to the test, and when we come out on the other side we will have answered the question of just how much we trust Him. We don’t have to worry, we don’t have to question or doubt…because when our trust, and our faith fully rest on our Heavenly Father, He will deliver, He will provide perfect peace, He will heal, fix and mend what is broken. It is not a matter of IF God will ask you, but when; what will your answer be when He asks…”How much do you trust me?”
