I wanted to share this thought with you….are we willing to share the tough stuff? God has really shown me things in these last few weeks through my current health scare…finding a lump never brings good things to our minds. Our faith is tested, we experience new fear and often feel overwhelmed and discouraged, but I have found myself wondering why no one ever talks about it…like we are just supposed to go through all of this quietly. We want to protect those around us especially our children…but what about this…what if God has put us right where we are to magnify Him and if we don’t share what God is doing in our lives He won’t get the glory and honor He should. When we sit and keep quiet about the tough stuff then no one hears about answered prayers, sovereignty, and blessings.
As I studied this verse in Deuteronomy I was reminded that not only are we supposed to study God’s word in front of our children but they need to see us living out the faith we profess and that means in the tough moments too. Not only do our children need to see it but our friends need to see it, and other believers and non-believers need to see and hear us living out our faith.
The tough stuff is uncomfortable, it’s not pretty, and may be embarrassing but think of what God is doing in your life right now in the middle of the tough stuff…think about how He will be glorified in our not so pretty moments. After all He can make the broken beautiful.
Psalm 46:1 says He is ever present in our times of trouble. I can testify that it’s absolutly true. He never leaves us, He walks with us, leads us, and is always seeking to draw us closer to Him.
Don’t be afraid to share the tough stuff because God will reveal His incredible power in our testimony.
