{Ephesians 4:24}
I can’t even sugar coat this for you this morning…
I am TIRED…
No matter where I am I cannot stop thinking about being here:
Spring Fever has hit and it is BAD, last week I even started spring cleaning…which always scares my kids, I think they get worried there won’t be anything left in the house when I am done. Spring does something to us, after bitter cold and gray winters we want to experience the warm weather of spring… Winter was always my favorite time of the year but the older I get the more I love spring.
Let’s take a second and think of the spiritual imagery of the seasons, from winter which spends most of its time in darkness, cold and lifeless – nothing can grow in cold darkness, but winter is expectant of change, even in winter there is hope because Spring makes all things new…Jesus himself makes all things new when our lives are stuck in winter and darkness. He reaches down and changes our hearts when we surrender our lives to Him. He brings spring; warm light, new life, energy and growth. When we live a surrendered life, we do what Ephesians 4:24 says, we put on the new self. The newness of spring isn’t just for the creation of God it is for our lives as well.
We are less than two weeks away from celebrating the resurrection of Christ, spring weather has taken up residence outside but what about inside? What about in our lives? Have we fully surrendered our lives, our will, our pride, and our sin over to Christ? Have we put on the new self, new life, new hope, new peace? Just like the transformation from winter to spring, our lives will transform when we listen for the call of a Holy God and surrender our lives at the feet of Jesus. Make this spring a season of new life in Christ.
