Reading Psalm 119:164-176
As we wrap up our Psalm 119 study, I honestly read these last few passages and think this Psalmist was a humble man with a great confidence in God. Do we walk humbly daily with a great confidence in God?
The Psalmist walked humbly because he sought to make God bigger, he sought to make God greater, he sought to give God all the honor.
Great peace comes to those who love the Word of God. (Psalm 119:165) In our humility, love and obedience to God, there will be great peace. Peace even when things are uncertain, when we are grieving, when our schedules are too full and we are overwhelmed, when we are afraid…God provides great peace to His children.
God provides us with full assurance that at the end of the day it’s going to be ok; that at the end of the day there is a place to lay your head for comfort. God sees our need; He knows our hearts…and He will provide us peace.
As we humbly walk forward let us turn the last eight verses of this Psalm into a beautiful prayer, a prayer that is filled with our humble hearts, ready to ask God to help us in every way, that we may sing incredible praises of His Word just as the Psalmist did.
My Precious Father in Heaven,
Hear our cry to you Lord, give us understanding and a teachable heart.
Deliver us from trouble according to your precious Word.
Let our lips speak praise and thankfulness because you have taught us.
Allow us Lord to continually sing praise to you for your Word.
May you be ready Lord to help us, give wisdom and remind us of your promises.
We long for you Lord. Let us live to praise you everyday.
