Have you ever had a moment when you feel like God is testing you?
Seeing what your faith is made of?
Seeing if you can withstand the wind and pressure?
The idea of embracing God’s pace is a test for me, a test of how much I am willing to let go of, what am I willing to say no to and can I let go of my need for control? Our rushed existence stems deeply from our need to control everything around us.
We want to control it all, we want to hang tight to our to-do lists, schedules and pretty calendars. We want to hang on to the endless stacks and clutter because at least we are in control. I hang my head and raise my hand…anyone else?
Looking to embrace the pace of God rather than our own, releases some serious pressure…the pressure to say yes to every task, the pressure to have endless things to do, the pressure of exhaustion because we are stretched so thin.
The test comes when we say yes to God’s pace…when we say yes to what He has for us rather than our own agendas.
