It’s inevitable, the Holiday’s take over and we are swept away in a sea of busy. The last few days I have heard it from close friends and even out of my own mouth. The idea that November is only a few days away has left everyone I come in contact with baffled. Where on earth did the year go? Never the less here we are…2 months left in 2016.
I truly feel that this is such an opportunity to be intentional with our focus. When we become intentional we find that we rush less and focus more, we feel less stressed and more pressed in to the people in our lives.
The fall is wrapped with gratitude, we intentionally focus on what we are grateful for, we look to time with our families gathered around the table. Of course right here on the blog throughout November we will be talking about gratitude. But, I want to talk about Christmas.
Maybe Christmas has become a holiday that stresses you just thinking of its approach, endless demands, parties, shopping, cooking, one task after another. By the time Christmas rolls around we have not enjoyed any of it. Anyone raising a hand? The season of Advent is so dear to my heart because it is truly embracing God’s pace for a season that is all about Him. A season to sit at the manger with the shepherds and wise men to worship Christ. It is a season that should not leave us feeling burned out but it should be a season that leaves us filled up and charged spiritually for the new year.
When I wrote He is Here…I wrote it with all of us in mind, every woman with a Christmas to do list that could stretch between your home and mine. The heart is getting us at the feet of Jesus, in the Word, viewing the nativity with fresh eyes and a willing heart. The study is a tool to help us be more intentional this Christmas and make His Word be where we start in this busy season.
I am right here with you in this…let’s do more than survive Christmas- let’s thrive! Let’s find Jesus in this season again and draw close to Him. Maybe you have completed an Advent study before, maybe you have never participated in one…this is such a great place to begin. This study is filled with daily Bible reading, daily devotions, 10 interactive pages and family activities. There will also be a ton of free content right here on the blog; free printables, shareables, family activities, crafts and more! You don’t want to miss this, together we will be in the Word!
Let’s embrace God’s pace together this holiday season…take my hand friend and let’s do this together, let’s be committed to being intentional this Christmas.
