I have some lofty goals for my 2017 book list…30 books and all and I’m sure there will be more before the year is over. Someone shared with me once that great writers should be great readers, it’s one of the greatest lessons I’ve taken into my writing life. I’ve loved to write for as long as I can remember but I never had a true love for reading until the last few years.
Grace, not perfection is a hardbound hot pink, beautifully written book from the heart. Emily wrote words that I have thought in my head for the last few years. I went from working full-time to being a full-time mom… then, I went from being a full-time mom to a full-time mom and full-time work at home mom. In these new transitions God has taught me an incredible amount about who I am in him. God is showing me there is no need for perfection, that it’s not attainable and the greatest gift is we can accept is Grace.
Emily is a wife and mother of three she also runs her own Business… Sounds a lot like someone else I know. I could deeply relate to her heartfelt words. With this being the first book I read this year I learned so many valuable things… That my worth is not found in tasks or found in my failures, but it’s found in the one who has called me, Who made me, and loves me with an everlasting love. If you need words of truth for your heart that will encourage you to put down your wonder woman shield and pick up god’s truth and His priorities for your life this book will encourage you and will give you tools to help you realize that we need to stop holding ourselves to a standard of perfection, but rather give ourselves grace.
