I was pretty dry in my faith walk about four years ago, so dry in fact that I don’t remember picking up my Bible for anything other than church and our ladies bi-weekly Bible study. When I accepted Christ in 2005, no one ever shared with me what steps were next, what I needed to do or how to open the Word for myself. I struggled.
What felt like the driest season of my life brought me to She Reads Truth and their daily online Bible studies. For the first time in my walk with Christ, I felt as though God had brought someone into my life to disciple me. Though they were not women I was able to sit with face to face over coffee, their words pointed me directly to Christ. They showed me how to open the Word and study; they taught me how to fall in love with the Word of God for the first time in my life.
Women need other women who are willing to lay it all down to disciple them and lead them to the feet of the Father. The callused and dry places in my life began to see new life; they were refreshed and renewed for the first time because I opened the Word and heard directly from the Father. God had completely captivated my heart in a way I never thought possible.
Certainly Raechel and Amanda will never know the eternal impact that God has allowed them to make in the lives of women and certainly, I am one of many, many women who have a story of how God has worked through the faithfulness of She Reads Truth.
I couldn’t wait to read the She Reads Truth book, reading their stories made them even more than just two women who were sharing God’s Word with me; they became my friends because we share similar stories. Too often think that we are alone in our trials, we are alone in our deepest hurts and sufferings, but each of our stories weaves together, each of us have a lifetime of injuries that we keep locked away. Amanda and Raechel share their hurts with their readers in a way that reminds you in the deepest valleys we are not alone, but God, who is faithful in all His mercy and grace holds tight to us, and we can hold tight to Him. He is what lasts, and His Word is what is eternal.
Things of this life will pass away, but the Word will remain.
It seemed a natural step for a group of women who treasure the Word so deeply to design a Bible. God’s Word doesn’t need any addition; it doesn’t need any alteration. In their initial letter in the Bible, they say just that. They are not seeking to add to God’s Word but “our humble attempt to honor the inherently beautiful gospel with the aesthetic beauty it deserves.”
When you hold this Bible in your hands, it is a treasure simply because it is the Word of God but also because you know it was designed by people who undoubtedly love God’s Word and it shows, every page whispers of their desire to point you to the Master. Their heart isn’t for themselves but to draw women into the Word of our Mighty God.
Each book begins with beautiful key verse artwork, reading plans, background study information, and maps or timelines to enhance your understanding of the Scriptures you are reading. Plus, this is a newer version with excellent readability but also the accuracy of the Scriptures as well.
Sometimes we can get wrapped up in the people behind a Bible study or book, we can, of course, be their fans but we must be aware of who they are pointing us to. Are they pointing us to themselves or the Father and these women without a doubt is leading you directly to the Father Himself.
I highly recommend both the book and the Bible for every woman, from the youngest to the oldest. These are stories and truths that every woman needs in their lives…but more than that each woman needs the Word of God.
